Senior Business Analyst

Job Description:

The Wholesale Credit organization is part of Global Banking as the credit underwriting organization.  The primary focus of the Analytics & Information Strategy team within Wholesale Credit is to produce high-quality Global Banking information and insights. This team is responsible for leveraging our data to deliver information products and automated solutions that generate revenue, reduce expenses and increase operational efficiency.

This Senior Business Analyst role will be a member of a team executing strategic Operational Excellence initiatives that will transform the way Bank of America implements wholesale credit.  This role will participate in the strategy and design covering end-to-end data integration, data analytics and insights, and/or data automation.  The overall design also includes required testing and controls and related components.  The Analyst will act as Product Owner for technology initiatives following Agile methodologies and be directly responsible for assessing change, analyzing impacts, recommending business solutions, devising test strategies, and documenting outcomes.  The Analyst will partner closely with business and process SMEs, data managers, and technology teams to implement solutions.


Must have experience implementing data solutions aligned to business strategies and strong knowledge of data management fundamentals.  Requires excellent organizational skills and ability to navigate effectively across a highly-matrixed structure.  Must have experience with financial related processes and systems, preferably credit related.  Does not have staff management responsibility; typically requires 5+ years of applicable experience.

Additional Required Skills:

  • Experience working with data to perform analysis and propose process or technology changes

  • Experience with credit underwriting, credit products, credit risk, accounting, or banking finance

  • Experience driving technology initiatives using Agile methodologies (product owner roles) preferred

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines; high attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communications; ability to communicate effectively with business lines, senior leadership, and technology to achieve desired results

  • Able to identify and escalate obstacles to implementation

  • Knowledge of SQL and query skills preferred

  • Experience with wholesale credit systems preferred (e.g. nCino, LoanIQ, etc.)
