Position Description

An opportunity has arisen in the Finance team in Hong Kong, to provide Finance support to the Asia Pacific Investment Banking and Capital Market business.  The successful applicant will join a team which provides financial reporting and financial control to the Investment Bank, covering Advisory, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets products.

The position provides an opportunity to work closely with the Investment Banking business, to gain an understanding of that business, and to develop accounting, financial reporting and control skills in a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Control
    • Daily and monthly P&L calculation and reporting
    • Month-end book closing, including General Ledger review
    • Maintenance and reconciliation of data in sub-ledgers, the General Ledger, and front end systems
  • Expense Control
    • Support expense analysis and review
    • Client invoicing
    • Review and control of receivables
  • Preparation of financial analyses and reports to the local, regional, and global management
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Project support, including new system roll-out
  • Liaison with front office and offshore Finance offices

Key Requirements

  • University Degree with minimum 5 years of working experience
  • Highly numerate
  • Previous experience working in a financial institution is a plus
  • Accounting experience is preferred, CPA is a plus
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, assertive and mature
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Able to read and write Chinese

Desired Skills (if any)

  • Proficient in Excel, knowledge of Oracle and SAP is a plus
