Description

The Client Associate (CA) role is a sales support position, typically providing dedicated operational and sales support to multiple Financial Advisors (FA's). Incumbents may also on a regular basis support office initiatives, in addition to the businesses of particular FA's. For established clients, the CA will often serve as the most frequent point of contact with Merrill Lynch. Fully registered CA (Series 7 & 66 (63/65)). Fully paid or partially paid by the FA.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1+ years professional or relevant internship experience required
  • If Series 7 & 66 or 63/65 licenses are not currently held, must be obtained within a specified timeframe if being hired into a registered job code
  • Knowledge of investment and banking products, policies & procedures
  • Strong client service & technical skills (MS Word & Excel)
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills

Private Wealth Management team in Frederick, MD seeks Registered Private Wealth Client Associate.   

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented colleague with leadership experience, who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and can maintain effectiveness when experiencing fast-paced changes in work tasks.   The ideal candidate will establish strong client relationships by exceeding client expectations and following through on commitments.  Our established team is expanding and the candidate will be dedicated to growing with us.   

The team serves approximately 35 uniquely successful relationships in the ultra-high net worth and private wealth space.   Our 5 member team has an average tenure of 15 years on the team and 25 years with Merrill Lynch.  Merrill’s Elite Growth Practice (EGP) framework guides the team’s exemplary high quality client experience standards.

The Registered Private Wealth Client Associate role is a support position, typically providing dedicated operational and sales support to Private Wealth Advisors.  For established clients, the Associate will often serve as a frequent point of contact with Merrill Lynch.  Initially, the primary role will be to provide support for senior team members.  Incumbents will also on a regular basis support office initiatives, in addition to the business of the team. 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred (related field of study a plus)
  • Minimum of 1 year professional experience required
  • Strong client service skills including outstanding verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills.  Attention to detail and follow through a must.
  • Proficient technical skills including CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint and Apple iPad & apps
  • If hired without Series 7 & 66 (combination of 63/65) registrations, candidate will acquire within 10 months of hire
  • Ability to adapt well to others and transition seamlessly into an existing team

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality client experience, typically by telephone, WebEx, email and in person (when able)
  • Proficient execution of prioritization, follow-up, and resource utilization
  • Become proficient in the use of our Client Experience Workstations and various communication systems
  • Communicate with clients, fellow employees (Branch and Home Office) and the general public effectively and professionally
  • Provide administrative support to the team by processing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, creating and maintaining client files, obtaining required documentation, and answering administrative and operational inquiries
  • Provide clerical support to the team including word processing, mailings, office equipment operation, documentation requests, and materials handling
  • Actively pursue the firm’s campaigns and initiatives to serve our clients by delivering the full breadth of resources available 
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities upon Management request as required

NOTE: In addition to any of the Client Associate roles (Registered, Partially Registered or Non-Registered), this position may be hired into any of the Private Wealth Associate roles (Registered, Partially Registered or Non-Registered).
