Software Engineer/Framework Lead

Job Description:

The candidate would be responsible for maintaining and enhancing frameworks built in Qz/Python that are responsible both for internal data vending and for the suite of automation that drives regression testing of that framework. The candidate would be responsible for mentoring and guiding development work done by less-experience members of the team.

The Zinc platform is the Authorized Data Store for Traded Products and houses a multi-year online repository of Trades, Positions and Risk. We load more than 6 billion rows into our Exadata platform daily. We provide data critical to many aspects of the Firm’s activities including Trading & Risk Management as well as middle office, back office and regulatory reporting.

Requirements:

Software developer role working on a centrally-available repository for risk storage and provisioning.

Candidate must have experience in Python, Java or C++ and some knowledge of SQL.

Candidate must have a B.S./B.A. In Computer Science or similar degree and knowledge of data structures and algorithms

Candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in a role developing software.

                Candidate must have experience other than Java EE and client side JavaScript.

Optional:

Familiarity with MPP databases such as Netezza, Redshift, Exadata

Experience with UNIX or Linux

TDD/Agile methodology

                Experience in Institutional Finance IT (risk generation, risk reporting, trade capture, etc.)

Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees are expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Individual contributor role. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience.
