Process Overview*

The Global Middle Office seeks to provide first-class support service to its various internal clients with a particular focus on the relationship between trading risk positions. We are looking to recruit an individual to work in the Rates Trade Support production area.  The local team will be taking on Rates Trade Support-related workflow from the U.S. Middle Office which largely supports the trading business in New York.  The primary internal clients will be U.S. Front Office and Middle Office; however there will interaction with Front Office traders can occur over time as additional processes are transitioned.  The primary responsibility is to ensure, issues arising with a trade either at execution, expiry or throughout the lifecycle of the trade are escalated and resolved on T+0. Affirmation/processing/clearing of swaps on MW and paper platforms. Trade support is responsible for tracking the trade flow and making sure that there is an element of risk management and control. It’s Trade Support job to identify errors and raise them to the desk. Verify accuracy of risk and P&L required for trading. Oversee end to end reconciliations of firm positions and trade bookings. Perform IR/FX reset fixing on life cycle trades. Partner with other FO/MO and BO teams globally to resolve issues

Job Description*

Reporting: Ensuring timely delivery of MO/FO critical reports to various stake holders.

The applicant will be expected to understand and challenge team procedures to continually improve our support model.

Responsibilities*

Primary products covered will include but not limited to: Bonds, Rates, and Futures & Options.

  • Product knowledge – IRS, Cross CCY Swap, and Zero Coupon swaps, Options, Futures & Bonds.
  • Able to handle desk queries /adhoc request.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory requirements preferred
  • Good Communication. Confident while speaking with trading desk / Sales / Marketer / LOB / P&L / Risk Manager.
  • Control & Risk mindset. Implement improvements to the system infrastructure & control environment.
  • Work closely with Traders to resolve Risk and P&L issues on T+0 and thereafter.
  • Develop good relations with the business (FO, MO/Risk, BO), follow relationship with manager / assist members
  • Identification and resolution of booking, system and process issues.
  • Working in a pressurized environment with specific time constraints, whilst maintaining and actively looking to improve all process efficiencies.
  • Assist in the streamlining and enhancement of all Trade Control procedures and become actively involved with system development ranging from technical enhancements, new product release and automation of existing processes across GBAM functions.
  • Aid in development of team members by training and sharing knowledge and regular cross training.

Requirements*

  • Education* PG / Graduate degree in finance from any university with minimum 60%.
  • Certifications If Any
  • Experience Range* Overall experience of a minimum 5-7 years with 2-3 years of experience in operations function within an Investment Banking environment.
  • Mandatory skills*
    • Strong communication & negotiation skills across all levels of seniority including especially with the Trading desk
    • Ability to work autonomously and deliver results in a high pressured environment.
    • Logical approach to problem solving and ability to priorities multiple tasks
    • Proven analytical skills including data reconciliation and interpretation
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to notice minor discrepancies / issues

    • Prior understanding of Investment Banking industry
    • Intermediate to advanced desktop application skills (PowerPoint/Word/Excel

  • Desired skills*
    • Experience of Investment Banking Operations (Trade Capture-TSR/STR, Derivative Documentation/Settlements, Trade Support experience, Finance, QMO etc.).

Work Timings*

  • Night Shift. Coverage from 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM IST in summer. In winter coverage from 8:30 PM to 5:30 AM IST
  • Weekly Offs: Saturday & Sunday
