Business Unit overview:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced corporate lawyer to join Bank of America based in our London office reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Governance.


  • Follow EU, UK and other EMEA corporate governance legal and regulatory developments, communicating impacts to senior management and implementing changes as needed to legal entities
  • Coordinate alignment of compliance with corporate governance regulatory requirements across main regulated entities in region
  • In-house preparation and management of standard corporate governance agreements and documentation
  • Corporate governance and corporate secretarial support for boards or committees of regulated entities in region
  • Participate in and, in some cases, manage legal entity projects
  • Manage competing priorities which have tight and specific enterprise level deadlines
  • Support and advise senior regional management in their role as directors of BAC subsidiary companies
  • Organize directors’ and shareholders’ meetings for companies in EMEA including preparation of meeting material and meeting minutes
  • Ensure safe-keeping of statutory records, hard copy and electronic data


  • UK or US qualified corporate lawyer
  • PQE  experience
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • French language skills an asset
  • General corporate legal and/or corporate governance experience and/or prudential bank regulatory experience
  • Excellent client management skills required
  • Experience with standard legal corporate documentation
  • Able to work independently
  • Leadership qualities
  • Ability to manage a varied and challenging workload
  • Ability to communicate with senior regional management
  • Good analytical skills leading to problem solving
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to network across the organization to determine proper and efficient contacts
