Job Title:  Team Lead - Developer

Here in our London office we are looking to recruit for a Team Lead - Developer to join the Finance Redesign Programme within GBAM Finance Technology. The role will provide technical leadership and lead technical change front to back for Finance Workbench Agile delivery teams. The Finance Re-Design programme is re-engineering and standardising the P&L Production process across lines of business and is underpinned by the Finance Workbench product.


  • Provide technical direction, leadership and oversight to Agile Feature teams as they deliver technology solutions
  • Own overall technical design for Finance Workbench product
  • Work with Product Owner to ensure that product backlog / requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate team planning ceremonies against backlog/prioritized work. Manage risks/dependencies/impediments
  • Answer teams’ Agile/waterfall framework questions and lead by example
  • Lead and be responsible for the technical design for Finance Workbench
  • Lead technical solution delivery for Finance Workbench from requirements to implementation across products and teams in different locations as the solution requires
  • Undertake development as an individual contributor

Core skills

  • Excellent experience of Python development skills
  • Extensive experience of JS development skills
  • Experience of React
  • Experience in designing and developing significant components of an enterprise application using OO languages such as C++, C# or Java
  • Good understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices
  • High level of experience in working with and running agile feature teams
  • Good OO design skills, knowledge of patterns and architectural understanding
  • Experience of service orientated architecture (or microarchitecture)
  • Has demonstrated the ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application. Has performed test plan reviews
  • Exposure to CI/CD and Test Driven Development (TDD) as well as regression and integration testing
  • Working knowledge of products, services, business flows and understanding of financial context in which technology and operating principles are used within their business area
  • Experience as a Technical Team Lead or Architect would be ideal
