Our Office in Chester is currently recruiting for a Privacy Event Operations Manager, to work within Global Information Security.

The Global Information Security team is responsible for information security strategy, policy and program. This includes managing and operating a global Security Operations Centre and developing, deploying and managing a risk-based controls portfolio.

As a Privacy Event Operations Manager you will be able to apply critical thinking and an investigative mind-set to investigate, remediate, and document reported privacy issues in order to determine root cause of the error, where controls failed, identify risk & error trends, assess risk of harm to impacted customers and coordinate notifications to both customers and regulatory authorities as warranted.  This role is governed by Global laws/rules/regulations and scope of support is across all Front Line Units (FLUs) within the Enterprise.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

  • Management of privacy events impacting our clients and employees
  • In region escalation point for EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Gather root cause / trend analysis of privacy events and partner with FLUs to remediate and contain reported data breaches
  • Ongoing development of privacy procedures and controls across the enterprise as new regulations are introduced within the markets the Bank operates
  • Liaising with in country and enterprise Legal teams to ensure bank process are complaint with local regulations
  • Occasional on call required

Core Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) Certification (CIPP/E Preferable) or equivalent experience
  • Prior working experience of Privacy laws, rules, regulations (both International and Domestic)
  • Demonstrate ability to succeed in a fast paced and matrixed environment
  • Excellent analytical and fact-based decision making skills
  • Intellectually curious and ability to bring issues to resolution
  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple terms (oral and written)
  • Solid organisational skills with the ability to prioritise requests and workload accordingly
  • Exhibit keen relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Bank products, services, operations, and processes
  • Prior knowledge of Privacy laws, rules, regulations (both International and Domestic) preferred
