Sr Business Control Specialist

Job Description:

The Global Banking & Markets Anti-Money Laundering (GBAM AML) organization is a central control function which governs, facilitates, and oversees the global end-to-end GBAM AML program across all GBAM businesses and jurisdictions through implementation of processes and controls to effectively managing AML risks. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute internal control discipline and apply operational excellence rigor within the an operational team
  • Review high risk Due Diligence Questionnaires  (DDQs)
  • Monitor and influence the control environment to drive adherence to AML requirements and Enterprise Standards
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and control sustainability
  • Coordinate across other GBAM support partners and stakeholders to ensure end-to-end process engagement
  • Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies through activity monitoring processes
  • Identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation
  • Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with AML programs and risk management
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Ability to read and understand complex matters, anticipate risks, and summarize key information
  • High attention to details and strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills, problem solving; follow-up
  • Demonstrated dependability and ability to act with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to interact with people in all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and complex environment
  • Strong leadership presence

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Global Banking & Markets and applicable systems/tools
  • Process improvement and six-sigma and/or data analysis experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate Excel, SharePoint and WebEx skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • ACAMS accreditation
