Opportunity Overview

The Payments Compliance Data Integrity Analyst is responsible for supporting the Payment Compliance and Product Execution team as well as Bank of America enterprise goals by analyzing Payment Network (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) data, identifying data integrity issues and taking action to remediate the identified data anomalies. This role will review data integrity reports and will complete detailed analysis of large and complex data files to identify the root cause of the data validation errors.  The Data Integrity Analyst will have a deep understanding of the Payment Network technical specifications and will be able to translate the specifications into layman’s terms for communication to internal stakeholders and clients.  The Data Integrity Analyst will also be a subject matter expect on data element requirements and technical specifications. This role is accountable for building and maintaining processes and procedures designed to ensure compliance with Bank of America enterprise compliance and operating requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform data integrity assessments of Acquiring / Merchant Payment Network data integrity violations leading to the identification of the root cause(s) and remediation of the identified violations
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Payment Network (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) technical specifications and data format requirements
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders and merchant clients to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical specifications to non-technical business partners
  • Build strong relationships with the Payment Networks leading to the ability to influence rule changes and advocate for waivers / leniency for rule violations
  • Monitor and report on data integrity violations and compliance performance metrics

Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years payments industry related experience with Payment and Debit Network rules and technical requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science related field
  • Detailed knowledge of Acquiring Payment Network (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) processing platform operations with the ability to read and comprehend platform technical specifications
  • Strong analytical skills, not intimidated by massive amounts of data
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into simple terms that are easily understood and capable of being used to influence others
  • The ability work independently with minimal direction to identify and resolve payment message data issues
  • Attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting business priorities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High level of proficiency with Excel to perform data analytics and advanced data queries

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience

  • Advanced degree in business, math or statistics
  • 10+ years Payment Network experience
  • Prior experience with Acquiring Data Integrity research
