Data Product Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Engineer will be responsible for driving innovative improvements in how the Global Transaction Services (GTS) business accesses, moves, and blends data to deliver high quality dashboards and regulatory reporting.  This includes sourcing data from multiple locations, developing data views, developing KPIs and metrics, performance tuning and testing.  The Data Product Engineer will work with data stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives, and identify and use appropriate tools and techniques needed to source data and develop data solutions.

Must be able to understand the business vision and engage with GTS data scientists, product management, and technology partners.  A key part of this role is being able to understand and develop business thesis for analytics use cases, and have the technical skills to execute analytics use cases from end to end.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 5+ years’ experience with relational data structures and data movement technologies (ETL)
  • Demonstrated functional and experience with enterprise databases, data sourcing techniques, performance tuning, data wrangling tools and analytics Platforms
  • Experienced development skills working in SQLServer, Oracle, Teradata, NoSQL Databases
  • Experience working with Alteryx, Python/R, and Apache Spark framework for big data
  • Project Management and communication skills in a matrixed organization
  • Communication of business and architectural concepts/designs in a business-friendly fashion.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10% Travel

DESIRED SKILLS

  • 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of Transaction Banking products and/or applications (deposits and liquidity, payments, receivables, commercial cards, trade and merchant services).
  • Understanding and mastery of BI tools such Microstrategy, Tableau, Power BI
  • Scripting with Python, R, Scala
  • Functional knowledge of  Data Science Platform  C3
