QA Testing/Automation Engineer

Job Description:

Works with project teams to ensure overall software quality is monitored and maintained and/or validates system QA standards necessary to execute test plans and procedures for acceptance testing of new or modified applications/systems. Has some interaction with business area execs, vendors and operations execs in determining whether systems and system components, including hardware, networks, system software, tools, and applications are appropriate and/or ready for implementation. Fosters stable support framework for development teams and business units in the area of quality control and the development of new or revised applications. May provide guidance in the creation of standard test environments, tests plans, and test scripts. Analyzes, designs, documents new or modified QA procedures and standards and assists in the development and implementation of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered applications and information systems. Provide resolution to an assortment of problems complex in scope, related to Quality Assurance projects. Individual contributor role. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for associates supporting Capital Markets.


Duties: Analyze detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for Global Banking Asset Management Specifications. Code Internally developed applications and configure commercial-off-the shelf, and open-source, applications using programming, scripting, and database languages. Identify and analyze internal organizational needs, conduct requirements, gather and define project scope and objectives. Design, develop, implement, and support internally built applications that have usage for the Data and Analytics group. Develop high-velocity, multithreaded, real-time data processing back-ends that interact with the bank’s data warehousing systems. Use these back-end systems to integrate with internally developed APIs that will ingest and produce data/interactions for front-end dashboards/tools that will also be developed. Use Java, J2EE, Multithreading, File IO, Distributed Programming and Rest APIs to write backend software. Use Apache Storm Clusters and Kafka messaging to stream and interact with extant internal data queues. Write complex interactive front-end visualizations that connect with aforementioned APIs, messaging systems, Unix based applications and display different data sets to different internal teams, through parameter ingestion. Code these front-end solutions in JavaScript, React, Redux, d3 for single-page applications, render and manipulate the DOM for complex visualizations. Manage state and routing for interactive, dynamic data visualizations. Use Shell scripting to design, architect and host these applications on Unix and Linux environments.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Economics or related field from a top-tier university. Must include a minimum of 2 years of experience in each of the following: Using Java,  J2EE, Multithreading, File IO, Distributed Programming, Rest APIs, JavaScript, Asynchronous Requests, RESTful API architecture, React, d3, jQuery, Unix, cUrl, SQL, Groovy. Experience being methodical and detail oriented, with solid analytical skills and problem solving ability while being a good person to work with, get along with others, and are able to work effectively in a team

DESIRED SKILLS: 2 Years Using Python, Pandas, Flask, Groovy, Numpy, SciPy, Block Chain experience-Solidity. Exposure and advanced knowledge of Fix Messaging. Experience working on the tech side of large multinational Bank, specifically in the Global Equities Tradeplant, and with Electronic Trading Technology and/or Engines.
