Commercial Support Specialist-KYC-Charlotte

Job Description:

The Commercial Support Specialist (CSS) serves as the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Compliance Risk partner for Relationship Managers in the management of their portfolio. The primary responsibility of the role is to manage the Customer Due Diligence processes by ensuring timely and accurate compliance to policy and regulatory requirements related to Anti-Money Laundering and related Know-Your-Client activities. The CSS will execute national and regional initiatives, self-identified audit issues, KYC/AML onboarding, and record refresh and remediation projects. They will also manage risk activities related to wires, check fraud, overdraft/ uncollected funds and serves as point of contact for overdraft monitoring and escalations.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage the KYC/AML process and its effect on the client experience
  • Ensure KYC/AML deliverables are met and hold internal partners accountable
  • Escalate appropriate risk items and drive issues to closure
  • Participate in Client Management Process (CMP) activities including monthly team meetings, regular updates to the Client Action Plans, pre-call planning and client planning session preparation.

Required Skills

  • Experience with the KYC/AML due diligence process including appropriate identification and escalation of risks
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple deadline-driven projects
  • Strong interpersonal and overall communication skills (written and verbal); Experience communicating with and advising clients as well as internal partners.
  • Solid business acumen and sound analytical thinking in support of sales and risk-related activities
  • Awareness and understanding of bank products and solutions used by commercial clients
  • Self-starter who takes charge in absence of detailed instruction; effectively initiates solutions
  • Collaboration and teaming skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)

Desired Skills

  • Bachelors/Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Global Commercial Banking businesses and Client Management Process
  • Strong analytical skills
