Bank of America/Merrill's Retirement & Personal Wealth Solutions (RPWS) division serves the core financial needs of individual clients and plan participants by providing best in class, integrated products in the most intuitive, efficient and client friendly way while maintaining a forward thinking mindset and risk management focus.  RPWS is responsible for both the institutional and personal retirement capability set to include 401(k), Equity and Health Benefit plans for companies of all sizes as well as college savings, personal retirement planning, retirement income, insurance and estate planning for individuals. RPWS also provides tools and content that enables advisors and bankers to help their client’s live their best financial lives.

Job description:

This position will cover Bank of America’s Western region and can be located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, or other major population centers.

Responsible for driving Equity Award and ESPP program sales for Bank of America’s Western region to corporate clients, both public and pre-IPO, as well coordinating integrated opportunities with 401(k), non-qualified deferred compensation and health savings plans.

  

This individual will increase Bank of America’s presence and market share through industry events, new client acquisition and cross product sales.

The candidate will:

• Effectively manage multiple facets of the sales process, including meeting coordination, RFP responses, product comparisons, proposals, follow-up items/activities, etc.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations from discovery to finals stage, and offer guidance through the on-boarding process to ensure an optimal client transition experience
• Engage in business development activities with Bankers, Advisors and Consultants to promote the benefits of the employee stock plan business, and construct strategic prospecting plans
• Assist in maintaining client relationships, developing key marketing initiatives and delivering marketplace intelligence to assist with product evolution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with equivalent directly related experience.
  • 5 - 7 years stock plan industry experience
  • Expertise in stock plans, including financial reporting ASC-718, 10b5-1 required.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple retirement plan products and platforms, such as Defined Contribution Plans, Defined Benefits, Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a proven sales ability to maintain and develop strategic business relationships.
  • Superior interpersonal skills necessary to communicate complex information to a wide variety of personnel in a clear, concise and well-organized manner. Excellent relationship building skills are required to build relationships with FA's, prospective clients, and internal partners and enhance the retirement Services image.
  • Thorough knowledge of the retirement plan industry and competition is required.
  • Approximately 40 - 75% travel (within specified territory)
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal hands-on direction.
  • Possess excellent professional presentation skills and meeting management skills - ability to present to C-Suite level executives
  • Must have both the 7 and 63 licenses
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly form meaningful working partnerships
