Job Description:

Directs, manages, plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of the Systems Architecture section. Develops, plans and schedules the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of the corporate systems architecture including the applications, data, and infrastructure architectures and assures that this architecture is integrated with the business area architectures. Assures that the corporate architecture is consistent with disaster recovery plan objectives. Develops reports and presentations on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff. Organizes and controls the activities of the section, assigns personnel to the various projects and directs their activities. Coordinates the development of the overall project plans and timetables. Responsible for staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making. Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Provides input on policy issues. Typically 7-10 years of experience in managing and/or directing multi-project development teams.

Bank of America is seeking a Network Automation Software Architect who will be responsible for defining Bank of America’s network automation architecture, recommending and validating new emerging technologies, and ensuring that the end to end strategy aligns to business and technology goals. This individual will have significant influence by helping define innovative solutions required to operate a highly virtualized, fully automated secure, programmable network. The Network Automation Software Architect will work closely with other Architecture leads and the banks lines of business to provide holistic software defined solutions for our business partners. The candidate must possess in-depth technical knowledge of the competitive vendor landscape and be adept at translating complex technology terms for executive levels and internal customers. Additionally, must actively apply their broad knowledge across compute, network, storage, and security disciplines and possess a big picture vision. This is a unique opportunity to drive both the strategy and tactical execution around the way the Bank network is designed, configured, provisioned and operated on to enhance the customer experience, time to market, reliability and security through automation and virtualization. This work is in lock step with Bank of America’s development of the cloud solution.

Required Skills:

10+ years of industry experience within infrastructure technology domain
• 10+ years of developing complex software systems
• Minimum of BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience with  software development life cycle using best practices, methodologies and tools
• Experience with writing automation software
• Experience with network automation and virtualization technologies, tools and strategies  
• Experience in defining technical strategy and architecture 
• Experience in the enterprise scale technology infrastructure 
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, both public and private
• Working knowledge of Linux operating system and of virtualization technologies (e.g. KVM, Citrix, VMWare).  
• Programming skills in some variant of each of the following:
a. Automation Frameworks (Jenkins, Rundeck, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc)
b. Data Description: JSon, XML, Yang, etc
c. Coding: Python, Perl, Java, etc
d. SCM Platform: Git
• Familiarity with storage and server technologies and dependencies on network infrastructure
