Position Description

Global Corporate and Investment Banking Credit (GCIB Credit) is a front line business unit working closely with Corporate & Investment Banking as well as Global Markets to underwrite credit and manage the bank’s credit portfolio as we execute our strategic business objectives in Australia.

This unique opportunity involves the full breadth of financial products that we offer to our clients which include large banks, fund managers and non-bank financial institutions.  The successful applicant will bring FI credit experience with them and in return we can offer a superb platform for their career learning and development. Located in Sydney, you will join a team of Credit professionals onshore and have the chance to network with Asia regional and global Credit colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an active member of deal teams and engage proactively with relationship and product partners
  • Analyze FI clients’ businesses, their financial statements and due diligence materials
  • Prepare insightful credit papers for new requests and ongoing portfolio monitoring purposes
  • Manage day to day portfolio activity and trading flow
  • Identify and escalate emerging risks
  • Understand and apply internal policy, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Review various legal documents for relevant credit products

Key Requirements

  • Experience in FI credit and relevant industry sector
  • At least 3 years’ experience in banking and finance or related field
  • Knowledge of credit products with a focus on derivatives (ISDA) as well as loans, trade and treasury
  • Proactive - takes initiative and demonstrates ownership
  • Strong written/verbal communication and skills
  • Capability to build relationship with stakeholders within the bank and with clients
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
