EIT Testing Tools & Automation – Innovation Data Scientist

The Innovation team’s Data Scientist provides leadership of cross functional teams delivering Innovations which leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Enterprise Independent Testing.

The incumbent will provide hands-on expertise in data science and machine learning including model build and validation efforts as well as leadership of cross functional team doing the same.

 The ability to multitask and prioritize across multiple projects is critical. Drives and participates in development and implementation of Innovation solutions, often using new technologies.

Works closely with business management, project sponsors, data scientist/quantitative analysts within EIT and from other teams as well as EIT and Enterprise Technology resources to plan, develop and implement Proof of Concepts, Pilots and Production Innovations.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in the field of quantitative analytics or data science
  • Strong background in machine learning, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, statistics, or probability at the graduate school level or higher
  • Significant experience working with large enterprise data sets, predictive modeling and model risk oversight or governance
  • Significant knowledge of advanced statistical methods, Bayesian learning techniques, pattern recognition and outlier detection algorithms, predictive modeling methods including decision trees and random forest approaches
  • Proficiency with data including coding skills using multiple common data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SQL, MATLAB, Jupyter, Tableau)
  • Relevant background in text mining, natural language processing and image-processing based projects
  • Proven ability to influence and lead diverse groups across different time zones to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated ability to drive action and sustain momentum to achieve results
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written, including the creation and presentation of power point documents for non-technical executives as well as technical documents for stakeholders of varying analytic skill and knowledge levels
  • Ability to work independently, set and manage plans, achieve results
  • Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science and/or engineering, with a solid knowledge of the banking and finance industry; or possess a graduate degree in finance and/or economics with strong quantitative skills.

The Test Tools & Automation Manager is a member of the Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) organization and, under the direction of a Test Tools & Automation Executive is responsible for driving & managing the planning and execution of an EIT Platform in support of the Independent Testing Standards. This role engages with peers to recommend Testing Tools and Technology strategy, including cost/benefit analysis of refining/updating existing technologies or adopting new technologies, in alignment with company technology strategy. The Technology and Tools Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent quality of activities, processes and outputs by establishing effective review practices across teams. This role may contribute as a manager responsible for providing leadership direction to attract, assess, develop, motivate and retain a small team, or may act as an individual contributor
