Job Description:

Manages a team or multiple teams in a global markets operations support function in one or more product areas. Manages operations functions that typically have a high level of regulatory risk, monetary exposure and loss potential due to transaction size and daily production windows, which can impact client relationships. Manages daily activities ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards and adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements. Develops and implements new processes and procedures to improve operating efficiency, timeliness and workflow coordination. May have responsibility for or provide input on budget/expense management, reporting and forecasting. Requires full working knowledge of global markets operations functions and specific products/services managed. Responsible for decisions related to staffing and employee development. Interacts with business partners and their support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.), as well as external clients. Employees in this role typically have prior line management experience and/or have prior operations management experience in the specific functional/product area managed.

Main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Monitors and oversees regulatory and non-regulatory reporting queries which fall under the remit of the team
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for the GFX Reporting and Control team
  • Implement the overall strategic plan and regional plans
  • Effective assessment and interpretation of changes to regulatory reporting which falls under the teams remit
  • Production of Risk Indicators and other management information
  • Enhances and develops the GFX Risk framework and metrics
  • Ensures global standards are established and used to manage new regulatory requests and targeted risk assessments
  • Work as part of a global team supporting both internal and external clients, developing and implementing procedures and controls to reduce risk
  • Engage with the line of business and business partners to assess the risk and control effectiveness within the team
  • Mentor and coach junior team members of the team
  • Challenge the status quo in terms of the teams processes and procedures
