Global Technology Summer Analyst (Core Technology Infrastructure) - 2026/27 - Sydney
What we’re looking for:
- Penultimate year Undergraduate/Master’s student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with a pipeline to 2028 full-time employment
- Majoring in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related area
- Programming foundation and knowledge of platforms such as UNIX, Windows, databases, VMWare; programming languages such as Java, Python, Powershell, C, C++, C#, .NET
- Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SqlServer, Access etc.), programming (Python, SQL, VBA, ETL frameworks), reporting tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.), analyzing datasets (e.g. Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.) Cloud DevOps skills
- Being comfortable with change and able to adjust to changing demands and requirements
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong team player and client focused

What you’ll do:
Work within and across various teams within Global Technology to manage bank’s core infrastructure in one of the following teams:
- Hosting, Application & Database Services: Infrastructure capacity planning, Cloud Server Build and virtual machine migrations, Storage (NAS, SAN, Backup) and Database (SQL, Oracle) Management
Potential roles: Infrastructure Capacity Engineer, Cloud Solutions Engineer, Storage Engineer
- Network Services: Internal/ External Network Management, Firewall configuration, Network Automations and reliability engineering

Core Technology Infrastructure (CTI):
- CTI is the organization accountable for designing, building, and operating end‑to‑end technology infrastructure solutions and managing critical systems and platforms across the enterprise and lines of business. This includes setting the firmwide infrastructure strategy, defining the technology architecture, and delivering resilient, scalable platforms that support all businesses globally. They deliver technology infrastructure solutions across midrange, mainframe, data centers, database, middleware, server patching, while overseeing end-to-end engineering, cloud strategy and networks. The division also manages financials, project & portfolio management, and works closely to its global counterparts in the delivery of global solutions.
Global Markets Technology (GMT):
- This division provide technology solutions and strategic support to the equities, electronic trading, rates and currencies, credit and structured products, commodities, sales and capital markets businesses.
- GMT includes Global Equity Technology – Leads the three primary businesses, active in 140 markets around the world: Execution Services (high and low touch), Client Solutions (derivatives) and Asset Management Services (prime brokerage, security lending and swaps). In addition, this group also covers Global Sales, Research, Capital Markets and the GBAM Mercury® Portal.
- Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Technology – Supports FICC trading and sales franchise that operates out of 25 locations worldwide, covering clients in more than 150 countries.
- Global Markets Post Trade Technology - Supports Global Markets Operations and Middle Office, plus external partners. Acts as the primary support for Global Markets Operations across Transaction Management, Confirmations, Settlements & Clearing, Corporate Actions, Payments, Operational Risk, P&L and Balance Sheet, and Reference Data. They also provide support for Futures and Options, OTC Clearing, FXPB and GCAS Front Offices.
Application Production Support & Engineering (APSE&E):
- The Application Production Services & Engineering (APSE) organization leads end-to-end application production services across Global Technology. By partnering with development and infrastructure teams, they deliver best-in-class application availability and resiliency for clients and teammates, while deploying best practices in engineering and operational excellence.
- The organization is designed to ensure we continue to have strong expertise aligned with our Chief Information Officer partners, balanced with a series of horizontal functional teams that will enable us to achieve the right level of consistency, simplification and efficiency in the services we provide.
- Aligned vertically to each line of business, Application Production Services provides production support including problem, incident, release management, change management and production readiness along with service and program delivery.
- Support globally in all regions where business is provided by key horizontal functions including:
- Application Solutions & Engineering
- Performance Engineering & Capacity Management
- Production Governance & Analytics
- Operational Intelligence and Business Operations
Global Information Security (GIS):
- The Global Information Security team is responsible for protecting bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. The team:
- Develops the bank’s Information security strategy and policy
- Manages the Information security program and identifies and addresses vulnerabilities
- Develops, deploys and manages a risk-based controls portfolio
- Manages and operates a global security operations center that monitors, detects and responds to cybersecurity incidents
Program Review:
The Summer program is a 10-week program designed to provide Summer Analysts with a unique opportunity to gain an exposure to life at Bank of America and make significant contributions to the team. The Summer program begins with an orientation and induction to the firm. Summer Analysts are given a true associate experience, as assignments mirror full-time responsibility and include goal-setting and a formal review process.
