Job Description:
This job is responsible for overseeing the engineering and operational health of video infrastructure used for live events, broadcasts, and media workflows across internal and off-site environments. Key responsibilities include supporting post-production environments and partnering with internal technical teams to ensure enterprise infrastructure is configured and supported for system reliability. Job expectations include expert-level technical planning, real-time response, and continuous alignment to event production and broadcast standards & requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversees the architecture and daily operations of broadcast, event spaces, and post-production infrastructure across studios and event spaces
• Ensures high-quality video and audio signal acquisition, routing, and encoding for both live and recorded content
• Manages system readiness and proactively maintain production-critical infrastructure across all supported locations
• Supports installation, configuration, and monitoring of production gear, edit suites, and media delivery workflows
• Collaborates with event leads, engineers, and internal support teams to deliver flawless live event and broadcast experiences
• Leads technical planning and execution for system upgrades, expansions, and continuity-of-service efforts
• Documents configurations, standard operating procedures, and technical guidelines; resolves technical issues and uphold production readiness standards across environments
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in live broadcast engineering, master control, or technical operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of broadcast audio/video systems (e.g., Ross switchers, Yamaha consoles, Dante networking).
- Operational experience with live streaming platforms and encoding technologies.
- Working knowledge of IP networking, including routing, protocols, and configuration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Visio, and Project.
- Experience with collaboration platforms such as Webex, Zoom, and TelePresence in a broadcast context.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and communicate effectively across teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience building and maintaining SharePoint sites for collaboration and documentation.
- Familiarity with Makito encoders, Kollective peering, and Kaltura KMS.
- Knowledge of caption encoders, RTS comms systems, and Autocue prompting.
- Exposure to Adobe Creative Suite for media asset management.
- Understanding of video-over-IP delivery, video-over-fibre, and DMX lighting configuration.
- Experience with server technologies (e.g., Windows Server 2008/2012, SQL Server).
- Ability to mentor junior technicians and support onboarding.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and propose new technical solutions.
- Industry certifications or professional memberships (e.g., SMPTE, AVIXA) are advantageous.
