Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements

  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities

  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements

  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle

  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause

  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

  • Develop and extend our systems for performance, coverage and new functionality.

  • Work with technology and business groups in the region and globally to deliver high quality products in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide production support for applications.

  • Manage project deliveries independently.

  • Work on Full development cycle, inclusive of automation of quality assurance.

  • Communicate and discuss with Business and other stakeholder on Specifications

Required Qualifications:

You can code. Strong Python fundamentals and previous Python coding experience with expertise in object-oriented programming. You will develop, enhance and support an efficient, reusable, testable, scalable and performant code with special attention to high availability, low latency, data protection, security and automation.

You have at least 4 to 8 years of development experience in these skillsets:

  • Core Python fundamentals and programming

  • Object-oriented programming

  • Strong understanding of the software Design Patterns, multithreading

  • Working with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, etc.

  • Knowledge of Python frameworks like Django, Flask, etc.

  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3

  • Object oriented or Relational Database knowledge

  • Web frameworks and RESTful APIs knowledge

  • Code packaging, release, and deployment

  • Code versioning tools like CVS, Git,  etc

  • Knowledge of working in Relational databases like Oracle and can normalize complex SQL queries

You have a good design sense with ability to apply Design principles that are executable for a scalable application.

You are a good tester too with experience in robust testing and debugging software applications with Python test framework tools like Behave, Pytest, PyUnit, etc.

You have an innovative mindset. Not afraid to ask why and question established practices, always looking to own and improve quality via automation and tooling.

You have a strong understanding of agile methodology, with an emphasis on test driven development & continuous integration.

You have strong analytical skills required to develop solutions for complex business requirements.

You are a good team player and collaborative. You will be expected to liaise with both technical and business colleagues locally in New Jersey and other locations in UK, India, New York and Chicago. You will work as part of a wider development team spread between New Jersey and India.

You are a good communicator to fellow developers, management and business stakeholders.

You are broadly skilled who can pick up new technologies and concepts and apply them to your day to day work.

Understanding of the Listed Futures Options, Cleared OTC, Repos, FXPB business

Working in Quartz – proprietary framework of Bank of America.

Jersey City, NJ pay range:

$88,800.00 - $145,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
