Job Description

This is an opportunity to join the Custody Settlements area within the Equities Operations Team. A busy and challenging position this opportunity is ideal for a dedicated team player who has excellent communication skills. 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

• Pre-match and facilitate settlement of external counterparty instructions in Chess
• Pre-match and facilitate settlement of instructions for internal movements between custodian and broker and across clients housed under the custodian.
• Follow through queries and issues from Clients and Client service reps
• Follow up and escalate on failing or unmatched trades
• Reconcile internal general ledgers for funding across internal counterparties
• Prepare daily funding requirements between custodian and underlying client
• Assist to close internal stock and cash movements for end of day completeness
• Cross train in all settlement functions including Off Market & DVP settlements, funding and daily reconciliations

Technical Skills
• Equity Settlements experience preferred
• Prior experience with custody settlement systems and/or CHESS 
• Prior experience with reconciliations
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
• Be control and risk focused
• Ensure all tasks completed in timely and efficient manner
• Professional communication with brokers ,internal,  external clients, team members, registries & Chess 
• Ensure all work is done within audit, compliance and procedural requirements 
• Group/team focus, assist others where required to ensure group tasks completed by cut offs
