Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview:

Bank of America has embarked on a multi-year core banking transformation journey to replace its legacy core banking platform with modern technology platforms. As part of the core banking platform transformation, the bank is revamping its end to end ecosystem to improve operational & technological efficiency. The core banking platform supports multiple functions in Global Banking and Markets business: e.g. payments, deposits, credit, trade finance, foreign exchange, general ledger. The platform is being built in an ongoing and agile process to easily adapt to new technologies, integrate more tools, and provide a structure that is able to evolve over time. At the core of this transformation is the Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) platform. BiB uses simpler architecture and modern technology, eliminates applications, and is easier to enhance and update.

The Bank-in-a-Box (BiB) roadmap spans several years, covering Global Payments Transformation (GPT), CLI, and Branch replacement. The first BiB implementation was successfully completed in Oct 2020 for Indonesia, to address the local regulatory requirement to host core banking infrastructure onshore. Over 2021 ,2022 we had two more implementation for Global payment engine for both SEPA Instant, HK Real Time Payments.  In 2023 and 2024 we have enhanced SEPA with rulebook changes and HK with Crossborder (SWIFT) capabilities. In coming years we have an international payment strategy to moderance new emerging markets like Saudi, UAE along with other core markets in EMEA and APA. The BiB Centre of Excellence will be at the heart of this Payments Transformation Program.

Job Description

A Product Owner with strong business analysis skills and experience is required to strengthen domain capability within the BiB Centre of Excellence and support this multi-year transformation journey. The candidate will play a critical role in low level solution ideation, design, and delivery on the transformation program. He/She will work with product teams, technical leads, and vendor SMEs, and will have direct accountability in ensuring that business requirements are designed and implemented as per expectations. Strong communication and engagement skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform impact assessment on the current state processes and identify gaps.
  • Work with Architecture/Design to identify technology capabilities needed to meet requirements.
  • Work with Business partners to identify process impacts if any to meet requirements.
  • Work with Business Partners and Design teams to add/refine requirements and priority in line with system or process capabilities /cost and timelines.
  • Identify and raise risk/additional changes to Business stakeholders and work with business partners and Architecture/design to add or amend requirements as appropriate to address the risk.
  • Capture expected target end to end behavior as stories, with use cases (where appropriate).
  • Support project PI planning.
  • Work with Design and application scrum teams in the Release Train to review the Application stories/User stories to align with end to end stories.
  • Support Backlog refinement/sprint planning/user story review/test plan review/defect triage and change request generation for additional or changed requirements.
  • Generate low level design stories with supporting use cases and field level mapping, business rules/logic.
  • Manage user queries during feature implementation, and ensure that they are tracked and closed.
  • Participate in system design, SIT, and UAT to ensure that solutions are being delivered and tested as per requirements.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing and training on new product features.
  • Recommend and implement data migration and integration strategies.
  • Provide ongoing techno-functional expertise to ensure project stability post go-live.

B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA

Certifications (if any): NA

Experience Range: 10-12 years

Foundational Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Payments Domain
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills. Consulting mind-set with aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • PL/SQL , Horizon, JIRA experience.
  • Business Analysis , Presentation skills & articulation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the Wholesale Banking domain: e.g. deposits, payments, receivables, liquidity management, accounting, credit management, FX.
  • Experience working with Agile teams.
  • Ability to capture and articulate clear, unambiguous detailed functional requirements to both Business and Technical users.
  • Ability to take a high level design and define/drive the low level solution design with both Business and Technical users.
  • Ability to drive senior level discussions with good presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in complex matrix organization setup. Ability to influence & work with regional and global partners/stakeholders to drive the program forward.
