Enterprise Domain Architect

Job Description:

Solution Architect to support the Global Markets domains (covering lines of business from Equities, FICC, Prime Brokerage, Research, Capital Markets and Operations) within the Bank of America Global Banking & Markets (GBAM) Technology organization. The primary responsibilities will be to develop, institute, socialize and govern architecture strategies / blueprints and related frameworks. The role will also be engaged in architecting and designing comprehensive end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements in support of a given portfolio of work and support the authoring of high level designs when required. The candidate will be expected to govern a broad portfolio and be a key influencer of strategic technology spend.

REQUIRED SKILLS

“Must have”:

• BSc-level degree in computer science or equivalent experience in industry

• Experience with enterprise-level technology strategy in an architecture organization

• Experience of Financial Services specifically within markets in either Trading or Post Trade candidate will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of the complete trade and contract lifecycle

Required Core Skills:

- Application development knowledge and experience (Enterprise Applications, distributed services, design, analysis)

- Certification or extensive experience in industry best practices in architectural methodologies and standards (e.g. UML, BPMN)

- Architecture, quality & productivity methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma)

- Modern application development and deployment (Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery)

- Broad based IT knowledge (hardware, software, middleware, databases, cloud)

DESIRED SKILLS

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior levels of management

- Interpret business needs and promoting innovative technology solutions

- Translate complex concepts into multiple architectural “views” aimed at varying audiences

- Work effectively in a matrix organization with teams of architects, developers
and business partners with minimal supervision

- Express ideas verbally and in writing to effectively communicate with and influence teammates, technology partners, business leaders and executives

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution architecture which aligns with the enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices. Describes the solution intent and the associated operating environment, determines the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, defining non-functional requirements and architectural runway to support new epics/features. Ensures the solution is fit for purpose and use by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers, and evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions. Works across business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision and evolves it to an emerging backlog. Consults the business to clearly understand the business problems and technology to understand the technology challenges of the solution and finds creative solutions through practical experiments and POCs. Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensures architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily. Utilizes the defined best practices, templates and documentation to create architectural designs; suggests improvements to best practices and templates through practical knowledge. Works with Product Manager/Owner to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features. Clarifies the architecture for the development teams to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments. Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (e.g. security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability). Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies and best practices to create innovative solutions. Individual contributor.

Jersey City pay and benefits information

Jersey City pay range:

$83,800 - $153,400 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
