Consumer Product Strategy Analyst IV - Strategies & Data

Job Description:

This position is an individual contributor role responsible for support of strategies and data within Credit and Underwriting.  The individual will drive end to end process controls to strengthen the overall stability of both strategy execution and ongoing process health to ensure automated strategies and the data they leverage are under control and performing as expected.  The individual will act as a primary liaison between Business Control, Business Enablement and the strategy organization to support:

Independently tackle high profile issues by:

- Evaluating root cause/gaps

- Diving into complex data structures across multiple LOB to quickly acquire an in depth knowledge and demonstrate impact in a timely manner

- Developing comprehensive strategy simulation tests to ensure automated strategies to evaluate health of data and strategies

- Develop and monitor critical credit model/attribute reporting to ensure our critical tools are in control and performing as expected

- Package findings for socialization with Strategies, Business Enablement, Legal, Risk, Compliance and senior leaders which articulates associated risks and recommendations

- Remain flexible and juggle multiple complex work streams at a time

- Foster a strong network for collaboration

In addition the analyst will have the opportunity to manage projects across Acquisition Strategy areas with exposure to business partners and senior leadership, such as engaging with the modeling team for credit risk model development, and presenting ideas, recommendations and project results to senior leadership team and Risk Governance.  The analyst will also work with Technology and Operations to design and execute strategy implementation.

Strong analytical skills are required with extensive experience manipulating large data sets using SQL and SAS. This position requires being a subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics.  Furthermore, the candidate needs to possess the ability to independently drive improvements and proactively consult with partners to identify business needs and solutions. Candidates will be required to dive into complex data structures across multiple LOB to quickly acquire an in depth knowledge and demonstrate impact in a timely manner.

Required Skills:

  • - 4+ years programming and analytics experience with SAS/SQL, Python, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • - Ability to dive into complex data structures across multiple LOB to quickly acquire in depth knowledge and demonstrate impact in a timely manner
  • - Project management skills, excellent presentation and organizational skills; ability to collaborate, strong written and verbal communication skills, manage and expand relationships across the organization and with all levels of management
  • - Demonstrate a curious nature and question what doesn’t make sense
  • - Ability to remain flexible and juggle multiple complex work streams at a time
  • - Ability to analyze data to determine root causes and summarize Client, Revenue and Regulatory/Policy impacts

Desired Skills:

  • - Advanced degree, in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or similar, preferred from a premier institute
  • - Technical certifications in SAS, SQL preferred
  • - Strong understanding of credit strategies, how they are executed, and how decisioning data is passed downstream for analysis. 
  • - Previous work experience in strategies and/or strategy execution
  • - Knowledge of the core credit platforms utilized in consumer and small business banking
  • - Understanding of statistical functions (e.g. standard deviations) and tools
  • - Knowledge of credit policies and procedures for consumer or small business lending
