Senior Credit Underwriter – Private Wealth Custom Lending – Securities Based Lending

Job Description:

Perform all underwriting tasks for commercial loan requests to high net worth clients of Global Wealth and Investment Management, which includes Bank of America’s Private Bank and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

The position includes structuring advice to client teams and credit partners, completion of customized credit approval packages, and management of the documentation process. This role interfaces with client teams, credit executives, risk, servicing and legal partners to support the timely delivery of the credit process to market partners and clients.

Responsibilities:
· Analyze commercial risks and identify mitigants
· Recommend risk ratings, exposure strategies, and credit structures, including reporting requirements and covenants
· Underwrite and obtain credit approval for customized credit transactions secured by marketable securities and other collateral, as applicable 
· Partner with a Global Wealth and Investment Management client team division or market to support credit requests, which may involve upfront deal discussions 
· Manage pipeline and deal flow
· Negotiate loan structure and covenants during documentation process, according to creditworthiness, collateral and risk appetite
· Perform detailed marketable securities collateral analysis on Control / Restricted stock, REIT Operating Units, Exchange Funds, and derivative securities

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or economics preferred
· Strong financial analysis, accounting skills, and deal structuring for borrowers with complex balance sheets and income streams
· 3-5+ years of commercial/private wealth management credit experience 
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build business partnerships with risk, services and client teams who may not be co-located

Desired Skills:
· Formal Credit Training and/or Commercial/Wealth Management credit experience preferred
· Experience with marketable securities lending preferred
