Senior Engineer

Role description:

An engineering leadership position on high volume suite of messaging applications, ensuring high quality development practices and resolving our most complex technical challenges. Working across globally distributed scrum teams the role will drive development standards, design, code reviews and involve contributing directly to code based of the application, this is both a hands on and leadership role. There will also be senior stakeholder engagement and close work with broader architecture groups. Production support is provided by a dedicated independent team, but responsibly for leading  production L3 support falls within this role.

The primary technology used by the team is JAVA and backed with a broader technical stack including C++, Sybase, Tibco, Mulesoft, Hibernate, Spring boot etc.

The role will encompass designing and developing solutions, enhancing our automated testing capabilities.  The role also need to come up with strategic solutions for legacy applications, help in remediating NPT technologies.

The ideal candidate will join a wider organization which spans the globe in locations including London, New Jersey and India - this role in based in Jersey City. This position is expected to influence across those locations.

Core skills required:

  • Design and engineering experience within financial markets environment

  • Hashicorp Products like Consul/Nomad/Terraform/Vault
  • Advanced OpenStack and vSphere/vRO Application Programming Interface (API) implementation knowledge and skill set
  • In-depth knowledge in the Infrastucutre as a Service (IaaS) space working with tools such as vSphere/vRO/vRA and OpenStack.
  • Experience with Configuration Management: (ex: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CFengine)
  • ITIL Foundations certified or higher
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline

LOB General:

Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and delivery of defined deliverables for a larger program which requires engagement from teams across multiple organizations. Communicates the target outcomes, coordinates delivery, manages risks, ensures compliance to standards, and provides visibility into the health of the program. Ensures execution and delivery meets the clients expectations in terms of the target outcomes, timeline, cost. Manages financials for the program, assist with resource planning, and facilitate sync points between business and technology leaders across multiple organizations. Establishes the target outcomes in partnership with the stakeholders and leaders. Establishes and builds relationships with business and technology leaders across multiple organizations, as well as Compliance and Risk. Coordinates and facilitates the program routines - e.g. kick-off, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, tollgates, etc. Plans and coordinates delivery and dependencies across multiple organizations. Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to achieve the target outcomes and timeline. Facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal. Responsible to provide status updates to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to the target outcomes, delivery, risks/issues, and schedule. Ensures that execution is aligned with target outcomes by working with the sponsor/stakeholders. Ensures the work delivered complies with Enterprise Change Management standards. Tracks the success metrics and reviews performance with stakeholders and leadership. Manages the financials and assists with resource planning for the program. Provides input to define/improve the Change Management process for the Portfolio. Individual Contributor.
