Assistant Vice President / Vice President, Application Software Engineer, Global Markets Operations Technology

Your background

  • You can communicate in Mandarin as the projects will require interacting with China base Mandarin speaking users.

  • You have strong coding skills with work experiences in any of the following programming languages such as Python, Java, C# or .NET. 

  • You are proficient in Database concepts – MS SQL/Sybase/Oracle.

  • You have a strong understanding of Agile, with an emphasis on test driven development & continuous integration

  • You are broadly skilled who can pick up new technologies and concepts and apply them to your day to day work. You should have an understanding of tools like Gradle, Jenkins, Git and Ansible

  • You can multi-task & work independently under tight timelines & challenging environment

  • You can provide structured reporting of the project progress and various other metrics to senior management

  • You are a good team player with confidence as you will need to mentor junior members as well as receive guidance from senior team members.

  • You are a good communicator to fellow developers, management and business stakeholders.

  • You can work proactively with multiple stakeholders across the organization. 

What you can expect

  • We are a high performing development team working to build and deliver critical back-office solutions by enhancing the bank’s in-house applications for both Global Markets and Banking Business.

  • In a typical day you could expect to analyze, design and code software solutions, review code, attend agile ceremonies, refine requirements with stakeholders and liaise with other teams.

  • You will partner with business, technology, and operations; working closely with SMEs in our regional branches (Mainland China, Japan, Taiwan etc.) to deliver projects involving business enablement, regulatory, risk, and efficiency initiatives.

  • You will have the opportunity to work on a large multi-tier applications which are deployed and operate in multiple locations.

  • You will be part of a cross functional scrum teams working closely with stakeholders and project managers distributed regionally.

What you will do 

  • Product Development – You would spend 70% of the time in hands-on programming to enhance new features & functionality in existing platforms. Should be able evolve the code base & enhance the system performance.

  • Regional Dev Teams – Work with onshore and offshore regional development teams to implement requirements. 

  • Test your Own Code– Write and test your code by provide the automated test coverage.

  • Accountability - Expected to have strong accountability & ownership to deliver highest quality of work.

  • Application Governance: Bank’s application management activities to ensure we remain in compliance with Enterprise Governance.  

  • Communication - Communicate with the users for the immediate/short/long term solutions.
