Ops Sr Analyst MKTS - Global Custody & Agency Services - Charlotte, NC

Job Description:

This role is for GCAS Issuer & Paying Agent (IPA) which supports CP issuance programs for institutions.  The team is responsible for the daily collecting of IPA obligations and the disbursement if issuance proceeds.  We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive individual that works well under pressure and can maintain high standards when dealing with tight deadlines, high volumes, and demanding clients/trading desks.  The high level responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling escalation issues from both our clients and business partners, managing exposure related to pending transactions and/or breaks, engaging in projects/process improvements, and ensuring that all process controls and regulations are followed. They work closely with the firm's internal and external clients throughout the organization, including front office, sales, operational staff, technology, compliance, legal, project managers, and various business units.

The individual will be part of the Global Custody & Agency Services IPA Team.  This individual will interact with customers, front office business partners and various internal operations teams.  Primary responsibilities would include booking and settling CP trades, collecting maturity obligations from clients, and responding to client inquiries.  Also, performing other related control functions such as prompt break & issue resolution, escalation, reporting, and general risk & control oversight.

Enterprise Role Overview:

Follows established written procedures and guidelines, provides technical and analytical support in a global markets operations support function for one or more operations product areas. Uses established techniques to analyze and resolve complex operations support problems/initiatives requiring exception handling and/or coordination of multiple operational and/or product/services specialists to resolve. May assist in managing projects and/or introduction of new initiatives, systems, products and services and processes coordination across multiple operations functions. Employees will have college degree (Associates or higher) or comparable work experience. Required skills include: expert Excel knowledge, detail orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities and multi task, excellent time management and prioritization skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines, ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job, ability to problem-solve and take ownership of process improvements, ability to work in a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with various stakeholders. Desired skills include: Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred and a basic understanding of and/or experience in financial service industry.   • Knowledge of fixed income and equity securities
  • Ability to handle multiple deliverables, stressful situations and deadline pressure 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail and market deadlines
  • Strong PC skills; experience with MS Office products
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to manage and resolve queries independently
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment and think outside the box

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience working in trade processing and settlement
  • Previous experience working in an Operations environment
  • Understanding of the front to back securities trade flow
  • College degree preferred
  • Brokerage experience preferred
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle
  • Understanding of risk and control
  • Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
