Portfolio Manager I

Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:

  • Oversee completion of investment policy statement to gain a deep understanding of client risk tolerance
  • Help drive Chief Investment Office portfolio and model solution adoption
  • Act as a technical/industry expert in managing complex client relationships
  • Work with business partners to deepen existing client relationships and effectively communicate the Private Bank investment philosophy and value proposition
  • Help promote the Private Bank's Digital Capabilities with clients and prospects
  • Strong familiarity with the Private Bank Investment platform, products and solutions  
  • Work with clients to review investment performance and forecast market changes based on economic and industry analysis to ensure current asset allocation is appropriate.
  • Conduct all aspects involved with managing portfolios, including digital engagement, trade execution, maintaining investment action plans, monitoring and addressing overdrafts, conducting Reg. 9 investment reviews, and documenting account activities and client interactions
  • Support revenue growth of the Regional Office by meeting individual investment management, credit and deposit goals
  • Supervising, mentoring and coaching junior staff members

Required skills:

  • Strong relationship management skills 
  • Knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services required through related work experience in a regulated environment
  • Broad-based technical knowledge and strong track record of operational excellence
  • Knowledge of fiduciary standards, principles and applicable laws with regard to the investment management of client assets

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of investment decision making and financial consulting experience working with high net worth clients
  • Proven experience in investment and financial asset management
  • Understanding of the fiduciary standard and strategies for managing risk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High interest in and enthusiastic about economic and financial markets and trends
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent investment experience preferred as well as holding or working towards appropriate credentials such as CFP and or CFA designation
