Product Analytics Client Quantitative Analyst II

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced senior analyst to join the Product Analytics team to support the development of strategies across consumer lending products.  Specifically, this analyst will provide quantitative insights to inform key business decisions focused on driving responsible growth.  The Product Analytics team helps support strategic and tactical decision making, leveraging data and analytics to examine client behavior and identify expansion opportunities.  The role requires the individual to be able to proficiently use data tools & techniques to extract information and transform the data into meaningful and actionable insights.

Candidates are expected to work with partners to understand key business questions, develop an approach to answer those questions, gather and analyze data, and provide recommendations based on their findings.  Candidates must have superior communication skills and be able to present confidently to all levels of the organization, with the appropriate level of detail for the audience.  Candidates must have exceptional organization skills and be able to deal with multiple critical projects underway at once.    

A successful candidate needs to develop and maintain relationships with various partners including Product, Finance as well as the other analytical teams within Analytics, Insight and Modeling to drive out robust client centric insights to ensure timely, accurate, data-driven recommendations to inform and influence senior leaders.

  • Strong consultative background to engage and influence business partners
  • Expert level coding skills to navigate complex data environment and insure consistency of output cross product
  • Ability to anticipate trends and suggest analysis that will enhance business results
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Comfortable and effective in tackling unstructured analytical challenges
  • Excellent relationship management with the ability to navigate the organization and bring multiple stakeholders together to achieve strategic business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Acquiring, managing, and transforming data into meaningful information that supports BAC’s client strategy and tactical business decisions
  • Understanding how customers deepen relationship, use channels and interpret those patterns for leadership.
  • Conducting deep-dives into customer behavior to identify opportunity to deepen and drive digital engagement to reduce expenses.
  • Executing observational studies to identify key sub-segments of customers aligned to solution sets
  • Developing measurements aligned to key strategic goals and targeted actions
  • Developing a robust learning agenda for sub-segments and prioritize analytical efforts to support development of strategies and tactics
  • Independently gathering relevant data and business knowledge, via discussions with subject matter experts, analytics peers, or internal/external research.
  • Participating in regular business routines and drive dialogue to determine where analytics, testing and research can inform business decision making.
  • Collaborating with multiple functional groups including Analytics, Reporting, Marketing, Technology, Finance, and Product.
  • Analyzing client traffic & sales opportunities across the various digital, self-service, and human assisted channels.
  • Helping build business cases to support initiatives
  • Managing multiple tasks, delivering high quality analyses, completing project documentation, and presenting results to multiple teams and business partners.
  • Communicating insights to business leaders and propose solutions to a variety of business problems.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree with strong quantitative background in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
  • 5+ years of analytics experience in support of a product, channel or segment with ad hoc analytics as primary output
  • 5+ years’ analytics experience demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing SAS/SQL
  • Demonstrated data skills with large data stores, comfort with navigating and connecting disparate data sources
  • Strong demonstrated ability to summarize and interpret large amounts of data; experience with relational   databases; Statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in extracting, preparing and synthesizing data present in multiple systems using appropriate tools/systems (SASGRID, Super Putty etc.) for analysis.
  • Solid packaging and presentation skills utilizing MS Excel and Power Point.
  • Proficient in SQL, MS Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Financial services experience and knowledge
  • Advanced degree in business or statistics
  • Knowledge of and experience with BAC data, "W", CCBR, THOR, PAM and more
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytic techniques including propensity models, segmentation, and decision trees
  • Familiarity with “R”, Python, text analytics e.g, NLP
  • Familiarity with advanced data mining software and visualization tools (e.g., SAS Enterprise Miner; CART JMP; Tableau; etc.)
