Process Overview

Shared Technology Services (STS) is a technology group providing Application Development and Testing Shared Technology Services to the Global Business Services. STS is one of several Global Technology & Operations (GT&O) transformation initiatives aimed at simplifying and modernizing our technology and operations environment.

STS is about the people who get our technology work done. STS is about building our own fungible – or interchangeable – pools of in-house technology resources, keeping intellectual capital inside the bank. The members of this group will provide subject matter expertise on their respective technology domains.

Job Description

The identified leader will work across multiple technology delivery portfolios within GBS to drive horizontal transformational programs from STS App Testing perspective. Capability Manager is a team manager that support shared pool of 25-30 resources in their span of Individual Contributors. CMs are responsible for participating and executing strategic imperatives defined for STS and respective skill groups. They ensure maturity outcomes, measured through metrics, by enabling their teams with trainings & certifications, skill development, effective rotations, demand-forecast planning and talent pool management 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages day to day operations and administration of the assigned skill group functions. With limited direction, works to introduce to a variety of systems, processes where required to assist with App Test delivery & automation strategy implementation.
  • Can act as engagement lead for multiple stakeholders at Delivery Head and CIO Sr. Tech Mgr. level to drive STS operational engagement as well as strategic discussion including but not limited to understanding of functional area, resource & location planning, ramp plans, conflict resolution, process adoption etc.
  • Defines the career development of individuals through performance reviews, and building individual learning plans that is needed to develop competencies and skills.
  • Facilitates Resource proficiency development, strategic learning plan (SLP) and relevant training within the Skill Group.
  • Mentor and guide resources on both technical and non-technical competencies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of monitoring and reporting on skill group resources.
  • Participates in strategy evolution; Works with all skill group leaders and peers across skill groups to develop & track execution plan
  • Accountable for compliance to standards and procedures (Risk, Financial & Change Governance)
  • Responsible for strategic and tactical talent pool management;
  • Engages with Performance & Productivity leader for Process roll-out, Adoption, Metrics review, Talent Pool and Hiring etc.
  • Accountable for STS process adoption and deliver on performance metrics including OpEx and Risk
  • Responsible for setting performance goals & measurement for their respective teams 
  • Drives operational excellence with focus on continuous improvement and making recommendation on changes to existing processes to improve productivity & efficiency
  • Managing large transformational programs which might be multi-generational and include multiple waves and work streams
  • Collaborates with other peer groups to establish plans and objectives for a functional area, division, product group.
  • Define holistic approach towards building “Workforce of the future”
  • Drive Operational Excellence mandates within STS teams
  • Build strong partnership with Global teams and Support partners.
  • Identify and track potential issues /risks/challenges / dependencies and put in place mitigation mechanisms
  • Key competencies include the ability to execute a program using consulting skills and conflict resolution, proactively drive innovative business solutions, be outcome focused, and use technical, enterprise, and business knowledge to work across structures to meet customer needs.
  • Innovate with Impact: develop POVs, Pilots and solutions that will enhance customer experience

Requirements

Education: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, MBA or equivalent degree is plus

Experience: It will be an advantage for candidates to possess the following skills and experience

Overall 12-15 years of IT experience with 8+years of leading software delivery organizations. Knowledge of the Banking domain and Application testing practitioner experience is a must

Foundational Skills:

  • Strong technical leader in Applications Testing with proven record of having developed automation engagements
  • People management
  • Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills with an ability to influence and efficiently handle conflicts. Coach, Mentor and Guide team leaders and team members.
  • Passion to work with associates and grow their technical competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination and project management skills
  • Experience in creating and executing plans for transformational initiatives
  • Must have hands on technology background and be able to personally engage with key programs
  • Must have practical experience delivering solutions to Agile models, automated testing
  • Must have led large teams with end to end delivery ownership and proven success
