Process Design Consultant I

Job Description:

The Process Design Consultant I employee will be part of the Process Management team primarily supporting the Workflow Simplification Program (WSP) to analyze, update and implement processes moving into the new technology solution. The consultant will work with process owners and business subject matter experts to identify and assess workflow activities, determining best fit into the capabilities roadmap as part of a group. Will support best practices and actions to drive execution. Will also use research and analysis skills to develop product and process approaches. Must have the ability to manage multiple, time sensitive priorities at the same time. High-profile role on a high-profile program requiring intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness and proven track record of achieving results on a large-scale program.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provides meeting facilitation and presentations to effectively engage the audience with timely follow-up
  • Creates target state designs by applying human-centered and value-based methods such as Design Thinking, Business Process Management and Operational Excellence
  • Applies process engineering and Agile approaches to enable the WSP to deliver recommended solutions
  • Establishes or refines tools and methods used by the Process Management team
  • May be assigned to a product, process or functional area

Required Skills:

  • Traditional industrial engineer experience in financial services or manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of workflow processes and tools
  • High-level knowledge of Agile methodologies; familiarity with JIRA a plus
  • Change management or project management experience
  • Able to work independently or with a team
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, determined and positive – especially under pressure

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Global Operations and/or workflow solutions
  • Degree and/or certification in Industrial Engineering, Six Sigma or Business Process Management preferred
  • Experience with and strong knowledge of business process management methodology
  • 5 or more years relevant work experience assessing, analyzing and designing processes
  • Strong and effective communication and presentation skills; verbal and written
  • Proficient in process analysis and target state design
  • Process map and journey development and design skills - intermediate Visio
  • Good business judgement for risk/reward trade offs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve results
  • Organized and able to effectively multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with partners and peers
  • Undergraduate degree and/or relevant experience

Enterprise Role Overview:

Engages with business partners to analyze, implement, and update processes by utilizing sound process improvement models and techniques. Manages design or redesign of processes or projects using six sigma methodologies. Integrates best practices with process design to ensure continuous process improvement. Builds action plans and drives execution. Applies business redesign concepts, practices and DFSS tools. May manage teams to achieve process or project objectives. Processes are within a product or service delivery within a single business unit or department and are typically directed toward improving a single business, product, or function. May be Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
