Sr. Business Controls Specialist - Product Risk Management

Job Description:

The Sr. Business Controls Specialist role, as part of the Consumer Product Risk Management team, this role will be responsible for critical activities aligned to adherence of the Enterprise Product Risk Management policy.

  • Primary responsibility will include working with the Product Risk Management Team, internal Business Control, Issues Management,  Customer Experience and Product Mgmt. teams to develop Consumer and Small Business FLU product risk reporting for the defined Product Risk Management Enterprise requirements.  This role will primarily be focused on data and analytics partnering with a broader team to enhance systemic capabilities to further refine reporting for the performance of products in the centralized repository.
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with Consumer and Small Business Product Product Owners, Consumer Centralized Business Controls, Compliance & Operational Risk 
  • Additional responsibilities to be assigned as needed based on business needs and requirements

Required Skills:

  • Business Control, Compliance and/or Risk experience
  • Data and Analytics experience
  • Highly proficient in Excel and working with data, macros and formulas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to succinctly convey information to executive leaders and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple businesses and/or business partners
  • Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, strong follow-up skills and ability to escalate and gain resolution as needed

  • Control and Performance metric development
  • Exposure to process, risk and control framework

Enterprise Role Description:

Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.
