GWIM Sr. Operations Analyst - Performance Measurement

Enterprise Overview:

Provides technical and analytical support in a GWIM operations function for one or more product areas such as funds transfer, collateral mgt/margins, corporate actions, static data/data management, control, trader support, clearance/settlement, documentation/confirmations, customer service, new accounts, client valuations, document processing or statement/billing processing. Responsible for the analysis and resolution of moderately complex operations problems and initiatives requiring exception handling and working with multiple operational and/or product specialists to resolve. May participate in projects and/or introduction of new initiatives, systems, products/services and processes. As a technical expert, acts as a unit advisor providing technical support to less experienced associates. This role typically requires 3+ years experience in operations functions and a thorough working knowledge of the operational aspects of transactions and products.

LOB Description:

This position is a GWIM Sr. Operations Analyst role on the Merrill Private Wealth Performance Reporting Team. This team is responsible for maintaining timely and accurate reporting of client performance returns for the branch office network. Client data is sourced via a third party vendor from various custodial platforms across the industry and then aggregated in the vendor performance engine to create performance measurement analytics and reporting. The analyst in this role will support the network of Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) across the country, and their teams, with all aspects related to report setup, performance measurement, reconciliation and reporting

Specific responsibilities will include the setup of reporting, analysis of system data and calculations, portfolio performance, quality assurance of work performed by the vendors, performance reconciliation, support and partnership with the PWA community, timely email response, and facilitating adjustments, via the vendor, to the performance measurement systems and reporting as needed. Additional responsibilities will include training and review of all operational and vendor procedures and process flows for completeness and accuracy.   

Required Skills:

  • 2-3 years prior experience in the financial industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Math or Statistics and 1-3 years of performance measurement experience a plus
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills  
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex performance problems
  • Strong communicative and relationship building skills
  • High attention to detail

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Performance Measurement/Reporting
  • Knowledge and experience with designing, supporting and monitoring new offerings and operational processes
  • Knowledge of the First Rate, Rage, PMC, Client Review Center (CRC) or other performance aggregation platforms
  • Level 1 CFA or Series 7 preferred
