Job Title: Application Developer - Python

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Application Developer - Python to join the wider Global Technology & Operations line of business. Enterprise Finance Technology’s Business Financial Office Technology team is working on and implementing innovative tech based solutions to improve PNL reporting processes and support operational excellence.

Finance Workbench is a part of a suite of tools developed collaboratively between FICC Technology and Finance Technology as part of the Finance Redesign Program to standardise and simplify the daily PNL Production process.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Deliver RESTful services in Quartz Python and user interface components in React for stories prioritized by Product Owner

  • Work collaboratively with development teams in FICC Technology to deliver solutions end to end to meet business requirements

  • Work closely with Product Owner and business analysts to deliver stories and gain sign-off.

  • Contribute to application design, regression test automation and other efficiency initiatives, as well as actively participating in all agile ceremonies

The Team:

The successful candidate will join the Finance Workbench London based feature team working closely with an India based feature team and the FICC Tech based RRA team, as well as GBAM Finance stakeholders & users globally.

The team is part of the Accounting and Product Control team within Business Finance Office technology which has team-mates in London (MLFC, Bromley and Camberley), India and Singapore. Whilst the Finance Redesign (FRD) program is well established having rolled out to three LOBs, with the remainder of FICC in the pipeline, we are starting to look at Sub Ledger remediation which will provide opportunities in 2022 and beyond.

Core Skills:

  • Quartz Python development experience

  • Good understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices and associated tools

  • Ability to drive resolution of complex issues across multiple delivery teams

  • Appreciation of the importance of the whole project-lifecycle and business delivery

  • Driven to deliver sustainable and supportable outcomes to the business

  • React/Javascript development experience

  • Application Management experience

  • Knowledge of Bank technologies (Quartz/RemoteRisk/RRA/Zinc).

  • Investment banking experience, with front or middle office team experience advantageous

  • Knowledge of Daily PNL Production process within a Global Markets Finance function

  • Appreciation of Risk Awareness (Inc. Operational, Compliance, Business & Reputational)
