Position Description

Bank of America’s Global Corporate Security is currently seeking a Regional Security Manager (RSM) to join APAC Protective Services Team. This position will be based in Hong Kong – i.e. handling security issues in regards to the protection of all corporate assets (people, assets, operations and reputation) within his/her area of responsibility. The RSM will be responsible for providing timely and accurate security advice, credible intelligence, information, analysis, develop cost effective security plans, security risk management and dedicate time for crisis management responsibilities. In addition, the role includes responsibility for assisting in the implementation of the Security standards and guidelines for Security alignment with Global Corporate Security standards. The RSM will assist in conducting internal investigation when required and also liaise with external agencies (law enforcement, etc) as required to meet business requirements. The role requires an individual who is self-motivated, creative, able to work independently without guidance, and able to work in a high pressure and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.

The RSM will have oversight responsibility for Greater China and Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess in country risks and develop plans to mitigate key exposures to people, operations, assets, information, intellectual property, and reputation.
  • Provide security consultancy and support to the local business leadership.
  • Perform security risk assessments based on vulnerability criteria to determine appropriate levels of protection and security necessary for business sites and events.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external peers to enhance the efficiency of security operations.
  • Ensure security risks are communicated to the leadership / organizational units and provide guidance in developing a response / mitigation plan.
  • Ssupport / conduct investigations in support of Global Financial Crimes, HR, and Compliance. 
  • Support / provide executive protective services during VIP visits and business continuity plans for local sites in close cooperation with BCM.
  • Establish liaison with local law enforcement agencies, government regulatory agencies, the intelligence community, and private industry security counterparts as required.
  • Liaison with US embassy / consulate as required.

Key Requirements

  • At least 8 years law enforcement or security experiences.
  • Well known physical security job knowledge.
  • A good negotiator and communicator
  • The job could require approximately 10 - 25% travel. 
  • Capacity for highly collaborative work and a reputation for integrity.
  • Must be available to respond to emergencies and work irregular hours.

Desired Skills (if any)

  • Post-graduate degree
  • Former military; law enforcement preferred.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written English is mandatory. In addition to English, the ability to speak/read/write Cantonese and/or Mandarin Chinese is desirable.
