Executive Compensation Consultant

Position Summary:

The Executive Compensation function provides the following core services:

  • End-to-end coordination of the materials for the Compensation & Benefits Committee of the Board of Directors and/or Management Compensation Committee
  • Development competitor compensation benchmarking reports (including competitor public filings) for senior executives and the Board of Directors
  • Advising on structure of senior executive compensation programs and general plan design;
  • Development of annual proxy statement Compensation Discussion and Analysis.
  • Review of compensation-related regulatory requirements, guidance and ongoing compliance, response to regulator requests related to Executive Compensation
  • Ad hoc projects and general team support

Enterprise Description

Fully functioning non-supervisory position responsible for providing diverse analytical support to the design and development of compensation products that support the strategy for assigned businesses, executives or international clients. May directly consult with business managers in the development of these products.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day compensation administration and management of data resources
  • Development and management of work plans
  • Compile/summarize/analyze data (including survey results, market data, etc.)
  • Continuous updating, maintenance, management, and distribution of data within LOB supported and ensure integrity of data
  • Create high impact presentations utilizing PowerPoint
  • Maintenance, management and updating of  project materials and continuous process improvement of projects supported to ensure user friendliness of compensation processes
  • Assist with development of compensation strategies, market pricing, client communications, and compensation redesign and delivery
  • Implementation of new compensation management tools and processes

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of executive compensation experience or relevant compensation experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Maturity to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g. Legal, Finance, Tax, Corporate Secretary and within HR)
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, logical thinking
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; ability to succinctly explain complex topics
  • Time management – prioritize workload, to meet deadlines and ensure partners meet deadlines
  • Good judgment – knowing when to escalate an issue & works well under pressure
  • Must be a team player who can also work independently (self-starter) and display a strong work ethic
  • Strong initiative; proactively looks for ways to support other members of the team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and demanding environment
