Credit Review Overview:

Through examinations and monitoring, Credit Review provides an independent assessment of credit decisions and the effectiveness of credit processes across the bank’s credit platform, identifies existing and emerging risks, and reports its findings to various stakeholders, including executive management, the Board of Directors or committee thereof, external auditors and regulatory agencies.

Specific Description:

Manages and participates in credit review examinations across various commercial credit portfolios within Wholesale Credit, Bank of America Leasing, Special Assets Group and Global Markets. Associate will work with examination teams to assess the quality of credit decisioning, portfolio management, risk recognition practices and the effectiveness of credit management processes. After requisite training period, associate will serve as Examiner-in-Charge and will plan, manage and lead examinations, compile results, discuss issues and conclusions with the front line unit, recommend corrective actions and communicate results to executive management. Associate will assist in the monitoring of various portfolios by performing transaction reviews of new and existing clients to evaluate risk rating accuracy and proactively identify emerging risks to help in the assessment of their impact on portfolio credit quality. Associate may be asked to lead special projects or reviews outside of examination leadership and monitoring responsibilities.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 – 10 years of commercial credit experience in leveraged lending, financial institutions, counterparty credit risk and/or global markets (direct lending, workout, risk management and/or regulatory)
  • Ability to support conclusions through fact-based analysis and ability to influence senior leaders
  • Excellent credit analysis, project management and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results
  • Strong cash flow analysis skills with understanding of counterparty risk, traded products and institutional lending
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in finance, accounting, economics or other business concentration or equivalent work experience

    Desired Skills:

  • 10+ years of direct commercial credit experience
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, assessing and reporting on existing and emerging risks
  • Experience with direct applicability to Credit Review responsibility
  • Experience with credit analysis in international markets
