Investment Consultants are phone-based licensed representatives that provide prospects and self-directed investors with financial assistance by identifying broader product and service solutions that meet their investment and savings needs. Investment Consultants demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriately to the individual client's investment needs. Additionally, they align Merrill Lynch and Bank of America products and services where appropriate. Licensing requirements are as follows: Series 7, 66 or their equivalent. This position may be subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. If your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in your immediate termination

As a Merrill Edge Experience Team (MEET) Investment Consultant, you will be responsible for handling warm leads via inbound sales calls and reaching out to existing clients. You will be responsible for educating prospects on the solutions available through Merrill Edge to best help them manage their financial life. Once they have made a decision to move forward with Merrill Edge, you will help them get started by opening and funding their account. Ultimately, you are in a position to make a prospect's first experience with Merrill Edge a memorable one that will lead to more business in the future.

The role's primary functions include:

  • Demonstrate active listening; quickly and accurately identify client needs and articulate appropriate solution
  • Can articulate the competitive advantage of product offerings and deliver Merrill Edge value proposition through solutions targeted to client needs
  • Has a broad knowledge of products & services available throughout the enterprise and can align to client's need
  • Ability to align with prospect's conversation style to drive better engagement and optimal experience
  • Understand and proactively identify opportunities for additional business from prospects and clients
  • Knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriately to the individual client's investment needs
  • Maintain a high level of personal integrity and comply with the Guidelines for Business Conduct as stated by Merrill Lynch
  • Demonstrate a passion for driving sales, following through on commitments, process efficiency and time management

Required Skills: "MUST" have these skills to be minimally qualified.

  • Series 7 & 66(63/65) is strongly preferred; if not currently held, must be obtained within 120 days
  • 1-2 years of financial advisory or investment sales experience strongly preferred
  • Passion for excellence and willingness to work to exceed client expectations
  • Strong computer skills with an ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree (business related discipline strongly preferred), or 1-2 years relevant work experience
