Corporate title: Assistant Vice-President (AVP)

Location: City of London

Line of Business: Global Technology & Operations

This role will sit within the Loans Operations team based in London. The team currently supports various business lines within the Global Markets Group (GMG). The main trading desk supported is the GCSS Loan Trading Desk however the team also supports additional business areas such as Emerging Markets, Mortgages and Equity Structured Finance.

All of these business lines will have their own individual trading books and strategies and predominantly buy, sell or originate corporate loans.


  • Responsible for the monitoring & agreement of interest, repayments & dividends for distressed debt and structured assets.
  • Reconciliation of loan positions trading under LMA, LSTA and bespoke documentation, for both performing and non-performing assets.
  • Responsible for the agreement of interest, fees & repayments on lifecycle events and restructurings for both desk and sub-participated positions
  • Responsible for the monitoring of default interest for the relevant assets held in position.
  • Responsible for verification and authorisation of cash payments
  • Management of positions and client communications on sub-participated loans
  • Manage loan corporate action requests; coordinate and negotiate with the Desk Analysts, Traders or Credit teams.
  • Responsible for the daily supervision of department controls and reconciliations

Skills and competencies we look for:

  • Global Markets loans experience
  • A good level of understanding of the secondary loan trading market and the forms of documentation used
  • Swift and payment knowledge
  • Exceptional prioritization, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Have prompt and detailed escalation practices instilled
  • Team player conscious of the contribution they bring to the whole team
