Job Description:

This position supports the Consumer Vehicle Lending Product team by providing analytics to drive improved results.  Working in Product Analytics as part of the Consumer Vehicle Lending (CVL) Product Analytics team, the analyst will provide quantitative insights and consulting support to the line of business with a focus on improving acquisition, pull through, retention, recapture and profitability.  The analyst will also assist in development of a CVL datamart to enable more efficient data collection.  

A key success factor will be the ability to define an unstructured analysis aligned to business questions. Familiarity with fundamental quantitative techniques and strong data skills are a must and familiarity with Marketing principles and Consumer Vehicle data is ideal.  With guidance from the CVL Team Leader, they will partner with the line of business to define the analytic approach aligned to the business question, define the scope of the work, partner across the analytic teams to source data, link and compile data and then work autonomously and organize their projects to set reasonable targets and deliver work within that targeted time frame.  Types of business questions/analysis include: 

  • Executing analyses across all origination channels through the application process and recapture to understand market position and BACs opportunities
  • Perform pipeline analysis and inform modeling efforts to identify gaps in the firm’s ability to capture greater share of new loans and drive higher conversion in all parts of the sale funnel
  • Identifying innovative uses of customer data to target high-value business opportunities and drive improved performance
  • Create presentations to demonstrate conclusions, implications and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders   

Details

  • Provide the Line of Business with actionable insights to improve retention, sales and balance growth.  Utilize data from multiple sources (W, CVL ODS, Mortgage SQLPlex, THOR, credit bureau data, marketing files, and third party data) to construct meaningful analysis and insights to business questions.  
  • Translate business questions into analytics projects, create work tracking documentation, including objectives, and findings
  • Perform analyses to identify opportunities to increase applications and bookings and increase retention and recapture
  • Conduct foundational analytics to inform state of the business and customer behaviors to serve as the baseline for future strategies / analytics
  • Create written presentations that succinctly summarize results and visually demonstrate key findings
  • Present insights, implications and actionable recommendations to stakeholders and analytics leaders

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with strong quantitative background in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
  • 3+ years of analytics experience in support of a product, channel or segment with ad hoc analytics as primary output
  • Comfortable and effective in tackling unstructured analytical challenges
  • 3+ years analytics experience demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing SAS
  • 3+ years’ experience displaying solid working knowledge of SQL
  • Demonstrated data skills with large data stores, comfortable navigating and connecting disparate data sources
  • Strong demonstrated ability to summarize and interpret large amounts of data
  • Statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into meaningful insight
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with relational databases, design of experiments, and regression analysis
  • Knowledge of consumer lending products
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work to meet deadlines and milestones with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in developing and facilitating presentations utilizing MS Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to build key relationships and influence thinking of internal stakeholders

Desired Skills

  • Financial services experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle products' P&L
  • Advanced degree in business or statistics
  • 5+ years customer analysis experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with BAC data, "W", CCBR, THOR, PAM and more
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytic techniques including propensity models, segmentation, and decision trees
  • Knowledge of financial services and/or marketing principles preferred
  • Familiarity with advanced data mining software and visualization tools (e.g., SAS Enterprise Miner; CART JMP; Tableau; etc.)
