Overview
Sales
As a Sales analyst, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our clients by matching our services to their needs. You will interact with portfolio managers, research analysts and traders relaying investment research, relevant market information and marketing ideas; and/or executing transactions as agent for our clients.
As a Sales professional you will focus on a specific product area. Our Debt Profile includes Interest Rate Products, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Investment Grade, Leverage Finance, Mortgage and Asset Backed Products, as well as Structured Securities. Our Equity Profile includes Equity Cash, Equity Derivatives, Electronic Trading Services and Prime Brokerage.
Trading
As a Trading analyst, you will help senior traders make markets, manage the Bank’s capital and partner with Sales to deliver exceptional trade execution to our clients.
As a Trading professional you will focus on a specific product line and/or industry sector. Our Debt product areas include Interest Rate Products, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Investment Grade, Leverage Finance, Mortgage and Asset Backed Products, as well as Structured Securities. Our Equity product areas include Listed, Over-the-Counter and Derivative Securities. Bank of America Securities covers a wide array of industry sectors in both the Debt and Equity markets.
Responsibilities
Analysts are called on to:
Provide stellar service to our client base
Demonstrate understanding of our comprehensive suite of products and services
Track current market, industry and company activity
Develop quality trade ideas for presentation to the broader Global Markets team and our clients
Coordinate with professionals throughout the organization, including senior management, group heads, senior economists, product specialists, investment bankers and fellow associates
Qualifications
While we will train you, certain core skills are needed for Sales & Trading positions. Candidates require a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking, and strong communication skills. In addition, candidates who are naturally high-energy, flexible and resilient tend to thrive in the Global Markets environment. Some common characteristics we look for include assertiveness, attention to detail, team focus, passion for the markets, self-confidence and strong work ethic.
Summer Analyst Program
The Summer Analyst program is offered to undergraduates entering their senior year of college. The Summer Program kicks off with an orientation session which teaches Bank of America basics, including professional practices, views of the markets and technical skills. Training continues throughout the summer as the Analyst participates in group projects and presentations, offering the opportunity to learn not only from one’s own program assignment, but also benefit from the other Summer Analyst experiences. Outstanding performers will be considered for a full-time position pending graduation.
