Supply Chain Management – MAP Mission Statement

To champion Supply Chain Management associate development through experiential learning, training, and networking opportunities to empower associates early in their careers to manage their professional development, realize their potential, and maximize their contributions to Bank of America.

Functions supported within SCM are sourcing and supplier management of goods and services, supplier diversity & development, analytics and support services.


Overview

Intern assignments responsibilities may include:

  • Align business tactical plans and supply chain with lines of business strategy, balancing demands and capacity to consistently meet customer expectations, and increasing productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Be a key advisor in developing supply strategy, identifying opportunities, and providing supply expertise for Consumer and Small Business Line of business partners
  • Assist in supporting the supply chain management organization by developing sourcing processes and maintaining ownership of those processes
  • Provide subject matter expertise in SCM, supplier evaluation & performance measurement, contract negotiating, quarterly business reviews, total cost of ownership analysis, risk analysis, compliance
  • Present the lines of business with targeted opportunities, ideas and communications to deepen client relationships and increase profitability
  • Facilitate the identification and competitive selection of companies to provide products and services based on optimum mix of price, quality products and services offered

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Pursing Supply Chain Management undergraduate degree
  • Analytical/problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a group
  • Leadership skills
  • Technical skills (i.e. Microsoft office suite)
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Time management skills
  • Timely and sound decision making
  • Ability to learn and apply supply chain management practice
  • A high level of initiative, integrity and creativity

Training

The MAP Associate training curriculum is a two-phase program that compliments the hands-on experience that the MAP associates develops in their rotational assignments. The training curriculum is geared for professionals with courses offered in three main areas: technical training, business acumen, and behavioral courses.
