Commercial Real Estate Banking Summer Analyst Program

Commercial Real Estate Banking serves privately owned professional developers of income producing real estate, including retail, office, industrial, and multi-family properties. The franchise encompasses 28 states, the District of Columbia, and British Columbia with 86 offices. Commercial Real Estate Banking offers a full range of banking services, including construction and interim financing, treasury management, interest rate protection products, capital markets services and permanent debt placement.


Overview

Bank of America’s Commercial Real Estate Internship Program is designed to provide students with corporate experience in commercial banking policies and practices. Students are given a true associate experience, as internships mirror full-time positions and include goal setting and a formal review process. Interns are required to work 40-hour weeks for 10 to 12 weeks within the months of May through September.

We are seeking Commercial Real Estate Interns who are willing to share our success and help drive our organization to make banking work in ways it never has before. Bank of America offers paid internship opportunities and a dynamic environment in which to build a strong financial services career.

All commercial Real Estate Interns will have an opportunity to enhance skills and knowledge in many of the following areas:

  • Credit analysis of commercial entities, including basic loan structuring concepts
  • Analysis of residential and commercial real estate projects and sponsor credit support
  • Commercial Real Estate lending credit policies and procedures
  • Financial analysis and cash flow models
  • Preparation of client presentation materials and credit approval documents
  • Assess and interpret industry trends and issues based on targeted research
  • Sales techniques and promotional skills of Commercial Real Estate Banking and Commercial Banking products and services

Qualifications

The successful Commercial Real Estate Analyst candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of financial accounting and corporate finance principles/practices
  • Business/Accounting/Finance/Real Estate related degree
  • Involvement in campus or community related activities in a leadership or support role
  • Computer proficiency as it relates to financial modeling
  • Keen interest and desire to work in the real estate industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel and possibly relocate after completion of the program
